August 2, 2024

Dear Duck Fans,

Today is a landmark day for the University of Oregon, as we officially join the Big Ten Conference with great pride and excitement. This move continues our tremendous upward trajectory as a university and highlights the power of the Oregon brand. The Ducks have always been synonymous with innovation and a relentless pursuit of excellence, and joining the premier athletic conference in the nation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to these values.

Our membership in the Big Ten Conference opens a new chapter for Oregon Athletics filled with boundless opportunities and potential. Our student-athletes will now have the chance to compete against the best of the best, and they will be exposed to a broader audience that can create new opportunities for them. Our competitive landscape is enhanced and the Big Ten Conference enriches the academic and athletic experiences for University of Oregon student-athletes.

I invite each of you to our first-ever competition as a member of the Big Ten Conference, when the Oregon women’s soccer team hosts Seattle University at Papé Field on Thursday, Aug. 15, at 7:00 p.m. The event will be a significant moment in our university's rich history, and your support is critical to making it a memorable occasion.

Volleyball begins its 2024 campaign on Friday, Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. against Pittsburgh at Matthew Knight Arena. The following day, Saturday, Aug. 31 at 4:30 p.m, Oregon Football's 2024 season begins at Autzen Stadium against the University of Idaho. The energy and enthusiasm our fans bring to all of our games and venues are integral to our success, and we are excited to see you fill the stands and once again create one of the best home atmospheres in all of college sports.
