AUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

 

In accordance with Government Auditing Standards, issued by the Comptroller General of the United States, the reports below are the independently audited annual financial statements of the University of Oregon.

BOARD OF TRUSTEES FINANCIAL REPORTS

These unaudited financial reports have been presented to the UO Board of Trustees. They include income, expense, and fund balance for all fund types except agency funds. The quarterly reports contain projections for the year compared to actual by fund type. The year-end reports include unaudited income, expense, and fund balance for all fund types except agency funds. They include a reconciliation of the unaudited fund balances to the audited fund balances.

The link below provides access to detailed reports on the university’s projected operating expenditures and revenue, including data for capital projects and state-targeted programs. University of Oregon Athletics is one of a very few athletic departments in the nation that is financially self-sufficient. Data sets available on their Financial Information website include historical budget breakdowns, campus MOUs, national comparative data, and more.

TUITION AND FEEs

 

Tuition is set each year by the Board of Trustees after reviewing recommendations from the university president. That recommendation is based on advice and counsel from the Tuition and Fee Advisory Board (TFAB), a group comprised of faculty, staff, and students. TFAB reviews and analyzes relevant data and budgetary information and provides recommendations on tuition rates and other costs of education. UO STRATEGIC FRAMEWORK

In 2016, the UO finalized a strategic framework: “Excellence.” This framework represents the institutional priorities of enhancing the impact of research, scholarship, creative inquiry and graduate education; promoting student access, retention and success; attracting and retaining high quality, diverse students, faculty and staff; and enhancing the physical, administrative and IT infrastructure to ensure academic excellence.

COMPARATIVE BUDGET DATA FOR OREGON UNIVERSITIES

 

Public funding for Oregon’s higher education system is set by state lawmakers, who allocate taxpayer dollars into the Public University Support Fund (PUSF) every two years. The state divides PSUF funding among each of Oregon’s public colleges and universities. The presentation below from 2019 provides details on how PSUF dollars are allocated across institutions.
