Environmental Resilience
At the University of Oregon, green is more than just a color that’s worn by our Ducks. Green pays tribute to the flourishing landscape that surrounds us. Green vitalizes our campus community, connects us to the greater world, and gives purpose to our shared sense of discovery.
Addressing climate change is a big part of the UO mission—building off of a long legacy of protecting our environment. UO researchers are also creating more healthful and naturalistic designed environments, bringing Indigenous ecological knowledge into dialogue with leading-edge environmental science, and directly partnering with a new city in Oregon every year to help advance sustainability goals. We’re continuously exploring new approaches for environmentally informed entrepreneurship, law and policy, communications, applied science, and education.
We live, work, and learn in the Pacific Northwest—one of the most beautiful places on earth—and that informs everything we do. We are committed to our community. We believe that higher education plays a direct role in creating a more just and livable future for all.
