DAILY CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: Latest news and campus announcements

The UO has been providing daily updates on the impacts of COVID-19 on university operations since March 12. The university remains committed to providing timely information to the campus community and this week is moving to twice weekly updates that will be sent every Monday and Thursday. Urgent information will be shared directly via email. The UO Coronavirus webpage and FAQ page will continue to be your resources for the most up-to-date information.

NEW:

  • The Finals Week Teaching Update from the Provost Faculty and GE Support Group offers strategies for supporting students during this final week of the term and assistance using Canvas to grade and moderate exams and finalize grades.

REMINDERS:

  • Human Resources is continuing the employee engagement conversation launched last month. Employees are encouraged to explore ideas and suggested actions for taking care of their physical and mental wellbeing as outlined on the HR website.
  • Find information about the UO’s return to campus, including plans for the possible return to in-person instruction for fall term 2020 and resumption of some on-campus activities.
  • The fall class schedule and priority registration information for students was made available on June 1. Students received an email providing details about when they can register for fall term and encouraging them to contact their academic advisors.
  • Posters and signs to promote safe distancing and other healthy reminders have been created as a resource for university departments in preparation for a safe return to in-person activities on campus this fall. The signs are available for digital download in print and screen resolutions.

  • The Oregon Health Authority reports 4,922 confirmed and presumptive COVID-19 cases in the state, 81 cases in Lane County, and 1,302 in Multnomah County on June 8.
  • The university continues to work in close coordination with the Oregon Health Authority and our companion institutions and agencies.
