University Day is an opportunity for labs from the UO to set up exhibits and demonstrations to share their science with elementary and middle school aged kids. Topic: Generations Luncheon
This year UOWGS will host its first annual Generations Luncheon.  We
envision this luncheon as an opportunity for female scientists to meet and share their experience and expertise with the next generation of up and coming scientists.  Women at every level of the science career ladder will be in attendance, including professional scientists in academics andindustry, graduate and undergraduate science majors, and high school students.  During the luncheon scientists further along in their careers will have the opportunity to talk to young women who are consideringpursuing higher education and/or a career in science and share their experience and expertise.

February 2009:

Feb 17th Fundraiser - WineStyles (http://www.winestyles.net/eugene), 2846 Willamette St., Eugene, 97404, 5-7pm. Will donate 50% of profits to UOWGS, plus 10% of any other wine bar, gift shop, or bottle stop purchases made on the day of the event if customer mentions UOWGS. The wine-tasting fee is $10.

Jan. 12th Fundraiser - Track Town Pizza (http://tracktownpizza.net/), 1809 Franklin Blvd, Eugene, 97403. Bring the attached flier and UOWGS will receive 50% of the price of food purchased (in-house or pick-up orders). We will also receive 25% of the value of gift certificates purchased on the day.
