Fees and Charges

What You've Paid For

The standard charge for an appointment with a physician, dentist or nurse practitioner is only $15. However, if you miss an appointment without timely (generally 24 hours notice) prior cancellation, there is a $20 No-Show charge (Dental No-Show is $30). Please call to cancel as soon as possible so that another student may use your appointment time.

Some other services may be more expensive than $15, while others are available at no charge. If you have any questions about charges please be sure to ask your health care provider. We are able to keep charges affordable because your student health fee helps support many of our services including :

• Visits to staff physicians, the dentist, and nurse practitioners.
• Nursing Care
• Mental health care.
• Health Education services.
• Laboratory, X-ray, Dental Hygiene, and Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine services

What You Will Be Billed For

The University Business Office in Oregon Hall will bill you for the office visit costs, and all lab tests, x-rays, medications, shots, physical therapy, sports medicine, and special procedures. You will be billed for failure to keep an appointment if adequate advance notice is not given. If you are referred for service outside the University Health Center, you will be responsible for all bills.

Insurance Bills

Upon your request, the University Health Center will provide you with an itemized bill which you can send to your insurance company to pay for services you received at the University Health Center. You must request the itemized statement. Information is provided to parents only with your written permission. The University Health Center does not bill insurance companies: an exception is for some of the insurance plans offered through the University of Oregon Health Insurance Office.
