Math 112 — Elementary Functions

- Math Lab:
Mon - Fri, 9am - 4pm in 72 PLC.
(starting from the 2nd week of class) - Small group tutoring (2hr/week, $120/term) and private tutoring (~$10/hr) are available through ALS.
Prerequisite: Math 111 or satisfactory placement test score.
Textbook: (required) Contemporary Precalculus 4th ed. by Thomas W. Hungerford.
Graphing Calculator is required. Most students use TI-83, TI-83+, or TI-84. Students using other models please talk to the instructor.
Homework will be due 2-3 times a week on WebAssign. You need to purchase WebAssign access code ($10) from its web page or UO bookstore.
Quizzes will be given roughly once a week. There will be two in-class midterms on Mon 4/28 Tue 4/29 and Tue 5/27. The final exam is on Thurs 6/12, 10:15 am - 12:15 pm in the usual classroom.
No late homework. Late quizzes or exams are accommodated only for important emergencies accompanied by an official verification. Students whose schedule conflicts with a test/exam should let me know well in advance to work out an alternative.

Letter grades will more or less follow the standard 90-80-70-60 cutoffs, with appropriate +/-. You may not receive more than one grade higher in the course than the grade you earn on the final exam.
