TEAM EXPECTATIONS

Playing lacrosse at the UofO is a time consuming commitment.  Players are expected to make every practice, lifting session, and trip, travel during spring break, and take a week off from school in May for the national tournament.

PRACTICE
Practice during the Fall term runs about 5 weeks from the beginning of October through the beginning of November.  We practice 3-4 days a week, play in 2 tournaments, and an alumni game.  Fall practices M-F will be between 5pm and 9pm and Saturday’s between 10am and 4pm.

The Spring season runs from mid January to the middle of May.  Practice is 4-5 times a week and the majority of games are on weekends.  Practice times are generally between 5 and 9pm.  We travel during spring break and take a week off from school in May for the national tournament.

WEIGHT CLASSES
Players are required to enroll in Sports Conditioning.  Sports Conditioning is where we are able to lift as a team.  The class is run by the athletic department strength and conditioning coaches and is held at the Casanova Center two to three times a week, usually in the mornings or evenings.

As a prerequisite to Sports Conditioning (PEW 331), new players and freshmen need to take either Weights I (PEW 211) or Weights II (PEW 212).  Once you pass either of them, you can sign up for Sports Conditioning for the Winter term.  If you don't make the team and decide not to continue with a weight class, you have until November 12th to withdraw from the class.

ELIGIBILITY
Players must be enrolled as a full time student at the UofO and taking at least 12 credits during the winter and spring terms.  Players have 4 years of eligibility to play collegiate lacrosse.  Representing another school against any other competition counts as year of eligibility.

Graduate students must have attended the UofO as an undergrad, be enrolled as a full time student with 12 credits, and have at least a year left of college eligibility.
