The Undergraduate Seminar is a lecture series targeting undergraduate math majors and first year graduate students, though anyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. The goal of the seminar is to present topics outside the standard curriculum to introduce a research area, to solve an interesting problem, or just to reveal the beauty of math. The talks should not require a technical background much beyond calculus, some exposure to methods of proof, and the ability to sit through a 45-minute math talk. All talks will be held in Hilbert Space (Deady 107-108) at 12:00 PM unless specified otherwise. Fall Quarter, 2009
* The Undergraduate Seminar will take place at 11:00 AM on October 20. If you are interested in speaking in this seminar, please contact Jeremiah Bartz at jbartz@uoregon.edu. Last updated: November 18, 2009 |
