UO Today is a half-hour television interview program which is produced each week by the Oregon Humanities Center. The show airs on seven cable stations around the state and online via the UO Channel. Knight Library Media Services provides the studio, equipment and technical expertise for the program. Humanities Center director, Barbara Altmann, interviews members of the UO community, professors, or visiting scholars and artists about their research or areas of interest.
As part of the public outreach mission of the Oregon Humanities Center, UO Today provides a glimpse into the heart of the University. Each interview is a fascinating conversation with people who are working on issues and developing ideas that are shaping our world. Past guests have included the Rev. John Shelby Spong, Dave Frohnmayer, Samantha Power, Richard Ford, John Lysaker, and Patricia Ovalle. If you are interested in being a guest on UO Today or suggesting an idea for a show, please contact Peg Gearhart, 346-1003.
