Ed Mazria,
opening address:Meeting Humanity’s Greatest Challenge
Ed Mazria, an architect in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is the author of many published works, such as The Passive Solar Energy Book. After receiving his B.Arch from the Pratt Institute, he spent two years as an architect in the Peace Corps in Arequipa, Peru. He worked with the firm of Edward Larabee Barnes in New York before beginning a teaching and research career at the University of New Mexico and University of Oregon. He is the recipient of numerous awards, most recently the Outstanding Planning Award in 1999 from the American Planning Association.
Cameron Sinclair,

Cameron Sinclair is the co-founder and executive director of Architecture for Humanity, a five year old non profit which promotes architecture and design solutions to humanitarian crises. Currently he is working in four countries on projects ranging from school building, earthquake relief to developing mobile medical facilities to combat HIV/AIDS.
