The 24-hour design charrette
articulates new visions for a 400-acre industrial site once used as a railroad repair yard. The design teams will create healthier possibilities for the future and address such topics as soil remediation in the contaminated area, enhancement of the four surrounding neighborhoods, and an expression of the history of the industrial use on the site. We are honored to have Eugene’s mayor Kitty Piercy as a reviewer of the charrette as an expression of her dedication to community improvement. The project is introduced to students, faculty and community members participating at 3 PM, Thursday. The final review is Friday from 3 to 5 PM. Faculty, professionals and city officials review and discuss the teams’ proposals.
