Potential Workshops

The following workshops are in the process of being organized. They are more than likely going to be available, and if one of them peaks your interest, please don't hesitate to contact us for more information.

Renewable Energies

Learn how active renewable energy systems can bring life to appliances, equipment, and electronics. Topics addressed in this workshop may include the ever emerging technologies of photovoltaic cells and the wonder of hydrogen power. (contact H.O.P.E.S. for more information)

Vital Signs

Participants will form a mini case study of a building by hands-on experience and investigations of various building performance topics. Activities will include developing a hypothesis and gathering physical data using the latest and greatest (cool tools) like an infrared temperature gun, anemometers, light meters, and sling psychrometers. You do not need previous experience, just an inquisitive mind. (contact H.O.P.E.S. for more information)

Streambank Stabilization

Stan Jones of the UO Landscape Architecture Department will be leading a bank stabilization project on Millrace Creek. This work shop will be performed in close proximity to the water, so bring your boots and be prepared to get a little muddy. (contact H.O.P.E.S. for more information)
