Center for Green Materials Chemistry

Education

The Center for Green Materials Chemistry strives to provide exceptional student education opportunities, while advancing science and technology research that is key to companies across the Pacific Northwest.

Our focus is to broaden graduate students’ perspectives and opportunities for collaborative mentorships, and to help them earn their degrees in a short period of time. Students begin their careers by taking a series of summer immersion courses in semiconductor processing. Over the past several years, materials science graduate students have also participated in industrial, teaching or national lab internships that help them carve their career paths, expand their research opportunities or discover their love for teaching.

One of our major goals is to recruit underrepresented students, faculty and staff so that the community benefits from a diverse experience. We want to ensure that percentage of underrepresented students is five times greater than the percentage of underrepresented students found in participating departments.
