Call for Papers for the 2010 Conference

The 2010 conference will be held 19-21 February at Duke University in North Carolina. Please see the Call for Papers, and we would appreciate it if you wish to download the flyer and hang it in your department.

FEEGI Panel at the 2009 AHA

As an affiliated organization, FEEGI can submit a sponsored panel proposal to the AHA, under a later deadline.

The FEEGI executive committee is pleased to announce a call for papers for one panel at the annual meeting of the American Historical Association in New York City, January 2-5, 2009. FEEGI members are invited to submit proposals (250 words) for a panel on the theme of “webs of empire,” or networks composing early modern empires. We are especially interested in papers exploring connections and flows across imperial arenas rather than between centers and peripheries. Individual paper proposals are requested, but complete panels may also be submitted.

Please include a brief CV (2 pages maximum) with your proposal.
Deadline for submission: Wednesday, May 7, 2008.

Submit proposals by email to Mark Meuwese, FEEGI Secretary (m.meuwese@uwinnipeg.ca).

March 2008: Post-Conference Newsletter

FEEGI just closed the 2008 conference. Please check out the March 2008 Newsletter, covering new elected officers, changes to FEEGI's institutional structure, a brief report on the conference and banquet, and even a few pictures.

FEEGI is shifting toward presenting electronic news more frequently than the annual printed newsletter—as always, announcements and suggestions are welcomed by the editor.
