MCC vs OCC Game Report

dsc04757 We had an excellent game up in Gresham vs MCC. The weather was perfect, it was a lot of fun.

Brief Description:

MCC won the toss and elected to field first. After losing two quick wickets Mike and Prasanna stabilized the innings. Mike playing a very good anchor role and Prasanna ticking the score over. After the first break and Prasanna retiring we had Kamal and then Rahul bringing in some fireworks with Patrick being the anchor all the way to the end. Patrick played a great role protecting his wickets and making runs, he ended with 24 not out, great for his first time. MCC was supported by great bowling from Shaun Burke and Paul Sherwood and the rest of the team. Final score was 164/7 in 40 overs for OCC.

MCC started cautiously lasting the speedsters Kamal and Rahul but then Mike and Prasanna took quick wickets to give OCC the advantage. Shaun Burke played a great inning leading the chase but was losing partners to Daniel and Patrick. Nish Parikh joined Shaun Burke and their partnership helped MCC get back the advantage. Even after Shaun Burke got out, George Mukalel continued the chase. At the end of 38th over MCC needed only 2 runs to win but Prasanna only needed one ball to get Nish Parikh out and game over. MCC were 163/10 in 38.1 overs.

All in a all a very fun game to play. Big cheer to our hosts MCC and Brett Windsor for their great hospitality and sportsmanship. This game was a great experience for a lot of new players who have never played before. We hope to have MCC come to Eugene to play a game in July, so keep an eye out for that.
