1. About Us:

We are a group of students who are Muslims or interested in the Islamic culture. Through various activities during the year, and by investing the different Islamic events, we provide a positive atmosphere for students to discuss the Islamic culture and civilization. We are also a main source of helping the students in the U of O especially in issues related to the Islamic culture.

Muslim Student Association was established in 1971. In the first years, the association was more interested in meeting the immediate needs of its members; but in the late seventies it expanded its activities to include cultural festivals, exhibitions, book exhibits, lectures and films. In the last couple of years, the association was one of the most active student groups on campus. In addition of the above activities, the association has brought a significant number of famous speakers to talk about historical and cultural events concerning Islam, and has contributed very positively to the enrichment of the cultural and educational atmosphere in the university. Most of the association members graduated in 2005/2006 so it became inactive for only one year, but in October 2006, we gathered a good number of students to complete the great job the association has done.

2. Our goals:

  1. Educate people about the Islamic culture and civilization.

  2. Co-operating with other groups at the U of O.

  3. Serving and helping the students in various areas, particularly with regard to Islamic issues.
