Unpack the Quack: Freshmen get some help on Move-In Day

400 volunteers help about 3,000 new students move into residence halls

About 3,000 freshmen began their new lives as University of Oregon Ducks on Thursday during Move-In Day. The new students and their parents got a hand from 400 student, faculty and staff members who donned bright yellow shirts as part of the first ever "Unpack the Quack." The volunteers jumped in to make moving into residence halls as painless as possible for freshmen and their parents.

A full slate of events is planned over the weekend. Fall term classes begin Monday.
