The School of Journalism and Communication provides programs in advertising, electronic media, communication studies, magazine journalism, news-editorial, and public relations. The faculty members are scholars, researchers, and professionals in their fields. Many students hone their skills through work on the student-run newspaper, at the student-operated radio station, in the student-directed advertising agency, and for alternative publications and broadcasts. Internships often are available at newspapers, magazines, broadcast stations, advertising agencies, public-relations offices, and video-production firms.
