Campus Virtual Tour

photo of heart of campus
Once an administration building, always an administration building. Johnson Hall, named in honor of the university's first president, John Wesley Johnson, was built in 1915 to house the university's administrative offices. Today, Johnson Hall – listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 – is still home to offices for the university president, provost, vice presidents, and other administrative officers. President Dave Frohnmayer is extremely personable, as is the rest of the university administration. Dave, as he's known on campus, has a door that's always open to students and, in fact, he teaches a freshman seminar on leadership each winter term.
