Tom PeryamGraduate Student Research Highlight: Tom is studying the Miocene (6-12 million year old) sedimentary basins of coastal Sonora and Isla Tiburon, Mexico, to better understand the timing of faults in the Gulf of California. This work will better elucidate the tectonic conditions that precede continental rupture and the opening of the Gulf of California.
